The company started trading in New Zealand in 1986 as Boehringer Mannheim New Zealand Limited.
On 14 February 1992, a purpose built building incorporating offices, warehousing, training and service facilities located at 15 Rakino Way, Mt Wellington was opened by the Hon. Maurice Williamson M.P. (former Assoc. Minister of Health).
In 1998 Boehringer Mannheim NZ Ltd was renamed Roche Diagnostics (NZ) Ltd following the global acquisition of the Boehringer Mannheim Group by Roche (F. Hoffman La Roche).
Roche Diagnostics (NZ) Limited plays a leading role in the New Zealand healthcare market. The company is one of the leading providers of in-vitro diagnostics and is active in all market segments, from scientific research and clinical laboratory systems to patient self-monitoring.

Roche Products (NZ) Limited
Roche Products (NZ) Ltd was established in New Zealand as an affiliated company of F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd in September 1973.
In 1989 our purpose built premises at 8 Henderson Place, Onehunga, Auckland were opened by the then Under-Secretary of Health, Dr Clive Matthewson. In 1995, Roche Products (NZ) Ltd was amalgamated with Syntex Laboratories (NZ) and later with Givaudan-Roure Ltd.
Along with the international trend of focusing on the core business, the vitamins business was separated from Roche Products in 2000 and continued as a new company, Roche Vitamins (New Zealand) Ltd.
In 2004, Roche Products' consumer health division was sold to Bayer New Zealand Ltd.
At the end of 2009, Roche Products (New Zealand) Ltd was the leading supplier of cancer medicines in New Zealand. Operating in New Zealand now for 35 years, Roche Products (NZ) Ltd employs approximately 80 staff across the country.
