Roche Children's Walk

This annual fund raising walk is an initiative of the Roche employees.  Since 2003 over 46,000 employees across more than 102 Roche sites, including New Zealand, have raised over 5 million Swiss francs (6 million New Zealand dollars).  The funds raised are used to support children affected by AIDS locally and in Malawi through our partners ECPP and UNICEF.

Patient Education and Support

Patient groups provide patients and their families important support and information at a time when they are most vulnerable.  By working with patient groups, Roche is able to gain a greater understanding of what it is like to live with a disease, the challenges facing patients and their families and the role that medicines play in the management of the disease. They also provide the company with an insight on how to support healthcare professionals who in turn support patients.

Through its guidelines, Roche ensures that all patient group collaborations reflect our common values of intergrity, independence, respect, equity, transparency, and mutual benefit.

Examples of patient group activities we support include:

  • Sponsorship of Lymphoma Awareness Day in conjunction with the Leukaemia and Blood Foundation.
  • Promotion of World Hepatitis Day with the Hepatitis Foundation of New Zealand.
  • Sponsorship of the New Zealand guidelines for the management of Early Chronic Kidney Disease in General Practice together with Kidney Health New Zealand.
  • Support of the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation's Evening in Pink
